How do I know if my job qualifies as a clinical Social Work position?

Supervision plans and positions no longer have to be approved by the Texas Behavioral Health Council. Supervisors are now in charge of vetting Social Work positions.  During the initial consultation and I will review your job description and discuss what your day to work responsibilities entail.  If there are discrepancies I will work with you and your employer to make the appropriate changes to your job description.

What is the difference between Individual and Group Supervision?

Individual Supervision

During individual Clinical Supervision sessions, we will engage in one-on-one discussions focused on the clients under your care. In these sessions, you will receive detailed feedback and expert recommendations pertaining to treatment planning, diagnostic strategies, and guidance on addressing patient-related concerns.

Furthermore, our discussions will extend beyond your clinical work to encompass your personal and professional aspirations. Whether you'd like to establish your own private practice or pursue a career as a Clinical Supervisor, my commitment is to support you in cultivating your professional sense of self , fostering a robust professional identity, and cultivating the confidence necessary to pursue and achieve your career goals."

Group Supervision

Each Supervision group is comprised of 2-6 Licensed Master Social Workers.  Gorup Supervision sessions encompass a wide range of topics, including but not limited to the Social Work Code of Ethics, various therapy modalities, LCSW exam practice questions, and the DSM.

In addition, Group Supervision includes the valuable practice of case review and consultation. It is my strong belief that a comprehensive training experience should extend beyond the confines of my own expertise. Therefore, we periodically invite guest speakers to enrich our sessions with their areas of specialized knowledge.
